- What graphics processor, name and model does your machine utilize ?

- What are some of the game titles yous are having bug with, and are they deejay based ?

If the games are disk based, 'open' the disk and look for a file titled - secdrv.sys.

If this file is nowadays written report back  with the name of the game, and I will post my rant on DRM blocking

and effort to offer a link to a noCD gear up/hack.

[EDIT: While most games that are affected by DRM Blocking will install, some won't, unless you copy all the

files from the disk to a folder on your PC and run the installer from that location. ]

The vast bulk of games are 32bit. Some games have a 64bit choice, and I believe a couple of new

releases may be 64bit simply.

Any game that ran on Win7 without using a compatibility option for an older Os will run on

Win10 without any change.

And selecting compatibility for Win10 would be totally useless on any game, as there are no

games notwithstanding that accept been released specifically for Win10

- All the same, yous may  notice that on rare occasions the selecting compatibility options 'run as admin',

or 'disable display scaling on loftier DPI settings' may assistance (the DPI setting was an issue with a number of

games earlier the  1511 Win10 update)

- DRM blocking aside. The vast majority of games that ran on Win7 will also run on Win10. Of over

150 games I accept only one that I cannot make run on Win10 - Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 -

Some games have required a tweak, and a few Steam games accept required me to run the

'verify integrity of game cache' tool before they would launch (aforementioned happens if I go back to my Win7 install)

- When migrating from 32 to 64 bit there is a possibility that the .cfg or .ini files reference a 32bit OS, so

if yous have non reinstalled the games, or are using your quondam save games, or folders from -

User\My Documents\ or App Information folders that contain game data such as the games  configuration files

(.cfg - .ini ) you may demand to delete these files. When you launch the game information technology will create new .ini or .cfg files.

Unfortunately Jenith  did non seem to sympathise the concept backside using the Compatibility options.

The choice for compatibility with a detail version of Windows is about 'backward' compatibility and

selecting an Windows version that is contemporary with older games/software. Using Compatibility fifty-fifty for

Win7 could crusade bug with some games that were fabricated for XP or Win98.

Some older games benefit from using a Compatibility setting for an older OS, but this is actually rarely necessary,

and not always beneficial.

- Compatibility settings also have no begetting on the topic of the OP - 32 vs 64 fleck Windows or games.

The main issue with 64bit Windows and old games is with games that use a 16bit installer (mostly pre 2000

release ). 16bit installers volition run on 32bit Windows, merely not run on 64bit Windows.

- This thread was started in 2015, and due to Win10 having had several major updates since, there may be

unlike issues with some games on the electric current iteration of Win10.

You would exercise better to starting time your own thread, and give full details of what is, or is non happening.

Listing you system specifications, including make and model graphics processor, and the name of the game

you are having bug with, and whether is is disk based or a download from Steam, etc.

Too include details of whatever error message, if there are any.

I accept had the same result, However, it seems to be isolated to Win10 Pro, as the same programs piece of work fine on Abode Edition.

these mainly include game titles utilise xna and largely the 4.0 .net framework (some examples: Stardew Valley, Saints Row 3, Terraria)

Compatibility mode is not effective, and the programs fail to launch, without pop up error messages.

Event log shows a .net runtime error,

ie

Any solution or even piece of work that I could exercise to resolve this would be MUCH appreciated. Running these via a VM is painful and defective reasonable video card passthrough solutions.
